Meiji Shrine in Fresh Greenery

Meiji Shrine, which consistently draws the highest number of New Year's visitors nationwide. Its immense name recognition and urban setting might make it seem too familiar or too crowded for some, and I understand that hesitation about overly popular places. But it's an absolutely wonderful shrine. Founded in 1920 to enshrine Emperor Meiji and Empress Shﾅ耕en, its history is surprisingly not that deep. When you visit Tokyo, I highly recommend walking through its vast, green-filled grounds.
