Meigetsu-in Temple in Kita-Kamakura, famous as the "Hydrangea Temple." From late May to June, many visitors gather seeking the delicate hydrangeas. This time, I visited off-season on a scorching July day with temperatures hitting 35°C. While the hydrangeas were mostly gone, the vibrant green of the bamboo groves and trees was truly beautiful. Additionally, rabbit figurines are scattered throughout the grounds, and there's even a rabbit hutch. This seems to be a play on the temple's name, which contains the character for "moon." Perhaps the temple places more emphasis on approachability than solemnity.
