A cherry blossom stroll in the southern area of "Izumi no Mori" in Yamato City, Kanagawa Prefecture

I visited Izumi no Mori, a nature park located in Yamato City, Kanagawa Prefecture. The park spans National Route 246 and is quite large, but the atmosphere differs significantly between the north and south sides. On the south side, there is a large pond called “Shirakashi Pond,” and since cherry blossoms bloom around it, you can take a stroll while admiring the flowers in spring, even though it’s not primarily a cherry blossom viewing spot. There is also a free day-camping-only site called “Izumi no Mori Fureai Campground” and a traditional folk house village. If you take a detour from the north side and walk all the way around, it takes about 1 to 2 hours, making for a great workout.
