Shiratama Sabo Maruman, located right outside Exit A2a of Asakusa Station on the Asakusa Line, seems like a fairly new shop. Thinking "I really want shiratama again," I entered the shop, and a kind auntie came over to confirm, "Shiratama takes time, is that okay?" Apparently, they make the shiratama from scratch after you order. Just as the lady said, it took quite a while (20-30 minutes). I was surprised when the matcha shiratama and vanilla shiratama arrived. The sheer size of the shiratama was impressive. They were huge, wonderfully chewy, and had the perfect texture and flavor. However, unless you're really hungry, five shiratama is quite a lot. If you're just a little hungry, I recommend sharing one between several people. The coffee is also a huge amount for 500 yen!
