Since it opens at 7:30 AM, I arrived at JR Takamatsu Station just after 7 and deliberately walked the nearly 30 minutes to the shop to get the first bowl of kake udon of the day. An extremely simple kake udon with just tempura flakes, ginger, and green onions. When I slurped up the noodles thoroughly coated in the broth, my brain declared, "This is the best kake udon I've ever had." It might have been the effect of eating first thing in the morning, but after eating kake udon multiple times during my stay in Kagawa, Matsushita Seimenjo's kake was the best. By the way, I also tried their Chinese-style noodles, and those were delicious too (same as the kake udon except for the noodles). You boil the noodles yourself, but it seems about 3 seconds in the water is enough (since the noodles aren't particularly firm to begin with, boiling them just briefly preserves their texture).
