Heading east from Shin-Koiwa Station in Edogawa Ward, you'll find the Shin-Nakagawa River flowing. Thanks to the clear skies, the view from Koiwa Ohashi Bridge was superb, and even the crosswalk had a certain charm. This Shin-Nakagawa River is sandwiched between two major rivers representing Tokyo: the Arakawa to the west and the Edogawa to the east, both very close by. The Arakawa flows in from the Okuchichibu region of Saitama. While ascending the Shin-Nakagawa and Edo rivers ultimately leads to their confluence with the Tone River, within Tokyo itself, these three rivers remain distinct within this narrow area – a fascinating feature of the terrain. Furthermore, the unique urban composition here is truly remarkable: greenery and remnants of old Edo are visible up close, while high-rise buildings loom in the background.
