Mizuhara Forest and Mizusawa Forest in Yokohama and Kawasaki
Located in the residential areas of Yokohama and Kawasaki, Mizusawa serves as the headwaters for three rivers: the Hirase, Hayabuchi, and Yagami. With its streams, ponds, bamboo groves, fields, orchards, and mixed woodlands, it offers a picture-perfect satoyama landscape. Thanks to the efforts of local residents who actively maintain the forest, the area is kept exceptionally clean (Restrooms are also available.) Please note that, as this is a water source, pets are not allowed. Various events are held here regularly, with many activities designed especially for children and families. On the day I visited, a father and son had come to catch insects and crayfish.
