When I stayed in Tomakomai, I thought I'd made a mistake because the inn was farther from the station than I'd expected, about a 15-minute walk. But it turned out to be right near Eijushi, and later I actually felt grateful for that. I wasn't super hungry, but since there was a sushi place nearby, I decided to give it a try and visited around 6 PM. It was just after opening, and I was the only customer. I ordered the premium sushi, and it was insanely delicious. As I chatted with the master, more customers gradually started arriving. The omakase nigiri was also spectacularly tasty. And yet, the prices weren't high. The owner's fourth-grade daughter sat next to me, telling me riddles and sharing stories about her school (a school with only 9 students total!). Soon, the place filled up completely. If you come to Tomakomai, this is absolutely a must-visit restaurant.
