





Near the business hotel where I stayed at Hakodate Station, I happened upon a seafood izakaya called Uokichi, run by a Nepalese couple. I'd planned to just have some light sashimi, but it was so much fresher and tastier than I expected that I also ordered squid and hokke. Everything was delicious. They also had live squid on the menu, though I hadn't ordered it since I'd already had it at another place. Compared to other restaurants, the prices here seemed a bit more reasonable, so I especially recommend it for anyone wanting to casually enjoy Hakodate seafood.
