I'd been curious about d47 Shokudo on the 8th floor of Shibuya Hikarie for a long time. The spacious interior and the friendly, helpful staff. A menu featuring regional specialties from across Japan that changes roughly every two months. This time, I tried the "Octopus Rice Set" from Tomamae Town, Hokkaido, "Fried Horse Mackerel" from Matsuura Port, Nagasaki, "Meat Broth Udon" from Saitama, and "Red Perilla Soda" from Shibakyu, Kyoto. It felt like I hadn't experienced such pure, unadorned deliciousness in a long time. Man, it was good. The view of Shibuya's streets didn't resonate at all, but I was intoxicated by the simple deliciousness. I decided that every time the menu changes, or whenever I crave delicious Japanese food, I'll definitely come back again.
