When it comes to monjayaki in Tokyo, Tsukishima is probably the first place that comes to mind for most people. However, I was able to enjoy delicious monjayaki at a department store in Shibuya. Tsukishima Monjayaki "Moheji" has several locations throughout Tokyo and Yokohama, in addition to its original Tsukishima store. It was my first time visiting the Shibuya Scramble Square branch. By just after 5 PM, there were already over five groups waiting, and later it turned into an incredibly long line. I'm not sure if this is the case at all branches or just Shibuya, but it's the style where the staff cooks it for you. The complimentary tamagoyaki (rolled omelet) was also cooked on the teppan grill and was very tasty. I ordered two monjayaki: Mentaiko Mochi + Cheese and Squid Ink Risotto. Honestly, it was the most incredibly delicious monjayaki I've ever had.
