When you arrive in Sasebo, head straight to Bronxburg
The best Sasebo burger, the best owner, and the most American-style atmosphere. It's a bit away from Sasebo Station, but first, you must try their Sasebo burger (the sauce injected with a syringe—designed to be the shop's trademark—is seriously delicious. Both the burger and fries are top-notch). Everything else comes after that. Since I visited around 2 PM on a weekday, the owner shared so much about Sasebo's charm, letting me experience a special side of the city. He lived in Sasebo as a middle schooler, then moved around Japan for his father's work before returning to open his own shop. With experience managing a nearby American bar, he's overflowing with love for Sasebo.
