Kawaba Onsen, Seiryū no Sato, Kinshū Sansō. Though I visited outside the autumn foliage season, the signature semi-open-air baths exclusive to each guest room were delightful (there is no large communal bath). Bathing with the windows wide open, gazing at the morning sun or the starry sky, is very good. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious (with slightly generous portions). While some signs of age are visible in places, the property is well-maintained and thoroughly cleaned. It's a fine inn where you can savor compact, rustic luxury.
