The area around Kanazawa Station boasts an abundance of high-quality ryokan and hotels, making it quite difficult to decide where to stay. This time, since I wanted to eat dinner out and felt hot springs weren't necessary seasonally, I excluded those options. Focusing instead on ryokan that heavily emphasized "elegance" and "refinement," I came across Uan. My excitement surged the moment I caught a glimpse of its exterior from afar, rose further at the entrance, and climbed yet another notch in the lobby. Both the corridors and rooms radiated a refined elegance that was never ostentatious. Breakfast was a simple yet satisfying feast centered around dried nodoguro fish. The complimentary late-night soba noodles and free drinks were also thoughtful touches. What a wonderful inn.
