Every summer, the Edo-Tokyo Open-Air Architectural Museum near JR Musashi-Koganei Station hosts the "Downtown Evening Cooling Festival" on the first weekend of August. The museum itself was built to relocate, preserve, and display Tokyo's historical buildings, offering many attractions along with various exhibitions and events. While this evening festival draws a fair crowd, it's a truly wonderful event where you can savor a pleasant sense of nostalgia and summer longing. Food stalls are set up, but expect long lines. We recommend entering the park by 3:00 or 4:00 PM at the latest, grabbing your desired food and drinks early, and then taking your time to explore the grounds.
