Along the Katabira River in Asahi Ward, located on the western side of Yokohama, there is an avenue lined with double-flowered cherry trees in full bloom. The avenue stretches for about 1.5 km, offering a breathtaking view from early to mid-April. I happened to stumble upon this place by chance. Even before reaching the point where the double-flowered cherry blossoms come into view, the atmosphere of the road and the scenery clearly shifted, and just as I began to sense a pleasant, rustic vibe, the avenue of double-flowered cherry blossoms began. I couldn’t contain my excitement—this was a real jackpot. Of course, the double-flowered cherry blossoms are beautiful, but the overall harmony of the entire landscape here is just as outstanding. Since it’s not a widely publicized spot, I consider it a true hidden gem.
