I really love the riverside greenways in Suginami Ward and Mitaka City, and I walk this Tamagawa Josui Greenway fairly often too. The Tamagawa Josui was originally built during the Edo period as a water supply channel from Hamura City to Yotsuya in Shinjuku Ward, making it an exceptionally long aqueduct. Personally, I find this section of the greenway in the Mitakadai area particularly appealing. From the greenway, it's like the back entrance, but the sign for Kitchen Hidamari has always caught my eye. I've been meaning to go for years now. Just beyond it is a green plaza that doesn't seem to have a particular name, and somehow it makes you feel like you've stepped into a slightly different world. It's the perfect greenway for refreshing yourself.
