Minato-no-Mieru-Oka Park is located about a 5-minute walk from Motomachi-Chinatown Station on the Yokohama Minato Mirai Line. While many of you may have heard of it, if you actually visit and take a stroll, you’ll find that the meticulously maintained rose garden—specifically, the English rose garden—is truly beautiful. It’s not just the roses; the delicate flowers throughout the park make for a picturesque scene. To be honest, the view of Yokohama Harbor from the observation deck is nothing to write home about, but there are plenty of other highlights on the grounds, including the British Pavilion, the Yamate 111 Building—which houses a café and restaurant—and the Kanagawa Museum of Modern Literature. It really made me realize once again that Yokohama is a port city rich in exotic charm and style.
