The Silk Road in Hachioji is a historic highway that was used from the late Edo period through the Meiji era to transport raw silk from Hachioji to the Port of Yokohama. Unaware of this historical background, I was simply enjoying the pleasant feeling of discovering such a charming country road right here in Tokyo.
