Kinomiya Shrine is quite famous, and many people visiting Atami likely make the trip here (it's also said to be the head shrine for all Kinomiya Shrines nationwide). The sacred giant camphor tree is over 2,000 years old and has an incredibly majestic presence. The grounds are exceptionally clean and stylish, complete with a cafe, suggesting they actively market to younger visitors. It's a shrine that masterfully blends old and new elements, a type rarely seen nationwide. Definitely worth a visit during your Atami trip.
