Konpira-san (Kotohira Shrine) in Kawasaki
When people say “Konpira-san,” they’re usually referring to Kotohira-gu in Kagawa Prefecture, which is the main shrine, but I recently learned for the first time that there’s also a branch shrine in Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture. Founded in 1570, it is a shrine with quite a history, as the enshrined deity was transferred from Kotohira-gu in 1826. It has a wonderful atmosphere and is incredibly beautiful; the scenery in various spots is picture-perfect, making it a truly pleasant place to visit.
