Kogara, a hidden gem representing Shonan's soba scene, sits on the border between Chigasaki City and Fujisawa City's Tsujido. Established in 1978, I've visited several times, and it's always packed (reserving is recommended on holidays). Its old-fashioned charm, waiting room, and interior calm the mind. While everything is delicious, I highly recommend savoring the soba first. And the tempura. It offers a gentle, happy flavor, like the deliciousness I tasted as a child condensed into one bite. The complimentary pickled butterbur shoots in soy sauce also taste just like I remember from long ago and are superb. You can buy them as souvenirs, so I highly recommend them (350 yen per jar – way too cheap). It's the kind of soba restaurant you'll want to visit regularly if possible.
