Located about a 10-minute walk from JR Kamakura Station, it stands rather unobtrusively. Wanting to dine off the main street, I made a reservation at La Cucina de Gen. The interior has an old-house charm, and its understated elegance is very pleasant. Above all, everything we ordered was delicious. The price point isn't high, yet it's rare to find such deliciousness even at pricier restaurants. Every dish was so good it was hard to pick a favorite, but the squid ink seafood paella was truly shocking—even though we were already more than full. It included mussels and two whole, plump turban shells, and the depth of the broth was incredible. It was a memorable taste that made me want to return for it again.
