While looking for a place to grab lunch at Nishi-Maizuru Station, I found a restaurant called Hyotan. Since it was on the route to Yoshihara Inlet, which I was planning to visit next, I decided to stop in. The interior, nicely aged with character, gave off a very charming impression. Past 1:00 PM, with temperatures around 38°C (98.6°F), I was the only customer. This allowed me to chat with the proprietress about various things concerning Maizuru. When I asked, "Is the sashimi good in Maizuru?", she laughed and said, "Not really." Still, I ordered the sashimi set meal. It was quite substantial, but I enjoyed it thoroughly. Her grandchild even came out from the back at one point, making for a very relaxed and leisurely time.
