Kufuku Soko is a Western-style restaurant located about a 7-minute walk from Asahikawa Station. I happened to stop in for dinner on my way back from exploring the area on an electric bike. I ordered the “Kuu Rice Set”—a hayashi rice set featuring a hamburger steak, which likely serves as one of the restaurant’s signature dishes, given that it’s named after the restaurant itself. Perhaps because it was a time of day—or a day of the week—when the owner was running the place alone, it took a little while for the food to arrive, but coming here by chance turned out to be the perfect choice. A juicy hamburger steak, a soft-boiled egg cooked to perfection, and a rich, flavorful Hayashi sauce. All of these elements combined to create an incredibly delicious meal. I highly recommend Kufuku Soko to anyone in Asahikawa looking for Western-style cuisine!
