Hungary's soul food, "kürtőskalács." This sweet, tube-shaped baked treat is likely to appeal to many Japanese palates. At Balaton Cafe Omotesando, right outside Omotesando Station Exit B3, you can fully indulge in this kürtőskalács. They're quite large, so one per person is plenty for a snack, a full meal, or even breakfast. Since I also ordered a French roll for lunch (the dough for this is softer than the kürtőskalács), I ended up feeling extremely full. The kürtőskalács is quite sweet, so if you prefer less sweetness, I recommend the basic or coconut flavors. Just thinking about the texture and taste makes me want to eat it again right now.
