Naoetsu Station, the terminus of the Japan Sea Hisui Line running from Itoishi City's Ichiburi Station to Joetsu City. I got off here during a transfer and thought it might be a fairly lively town, but nope, not at all lol. There are a few scattered shops and eateries, but it doesn't feel bustling. However, that very atmosphere made it just right for a short stroll, and walking back and forth from the station to the sea turned out to be a pretty pleasant route.
