I visited the sweet shop on the second floor of Kibundo Sohonten, a shop founded in 1890, located just a few minutes' walk from Tokyo Metro Asakusa Station. It's a long-established shop famous for its Ningyo-yaki, but this time I had anmitsu and cream soda. While Asakusa is very touristy, the entrance to this second floor is rather inconspicuous. Despite the retro, relaxing interior, it was convenient that there were few customers at that time. Honestly, I wasn't that hungry, so we decided to share the anmitsu. But after just one bite, I was amazed. It was absolutely delicious, exactly as I imagined an ideal anmitsu should be. I was deeply impressed by the skill born from accumulated time and dedication. The cream soda was also exactly as I had envisioned it. A truly wonderful shop.
