"Settaku," a hidden gem serving creative cuisine in Oiso, Kanagawa Prefecture. Run by a husband-and-wife team, it operates by reservation only. The menu features only one option: the "Seasonal Meal" (2,970 yen), which changes monthly. Served as a course meal, it takes about one to one and a half hours from appetizer to dessert. The space, tableware, and ingredients are all meticulously curated. The dishes appear simple yet are deeply refined and visually stunning—delicious cuisine that brings genuine joy. During the meal, the chef—the husband—remains quiet, while his wife, the pastry chef, is warm and welcoming. Everything seems to strike the perfect balance. While you’ll want to visit regularly, it’s precisely because you go only occasionally that you can fully appreciate its value—it’s a restaurant that offers a truly special experience.
