This dynamic and majestic shrine truly lives up to the title of “Sōchinju” (Guardian Shrine). It is said to have been founded as far back as 541 AD during the Kofun period, making it a place where you can truly feel the weight of history. The lanterns, wind chimes, windmills, sacred trees—everything you see and the exquisite arrangement of these elements are simply magnificent, creating a pleasant atmosphere wherever you walk. The Shinkashi River flows behind the shrine, and in early April, the cherry blossoms bloom magnificently, attracting many tourists who come to see the flower rafts floating down the river. Although it is located about a 15-minute walk from the main street, which features traditional storehouses and the "Bell of Time," I highly recommend visiting.
