There is a Class 1 river called the Onda River that flows between Yokohama City in Kanagawa Prefecture and Machida City in Tokyo. The entire 2–3 km stretch of the Onda River promenade is lined with cherry blossoms, creating a truly spectacular sight. I happened to visit for the first time just as the blossoms were in full bloom, and I don’t recall ever seeing such an abundance of cherry blossoms before. Starting near JR Naruse Station, you can enjoy an uninterrupted row of cherry blossoms. Even on a holiday, it wasn’t overly crowded, so among the many cherry blossom spots, this has become one of my personal favorites.
