The east exit of Mitaka Station, famous for the Ghibli Museum, has a path leading from the station to Inokashira Park named "Path of the Wind." This name was apparently chosen after the Ghibli Museum opened, so it likely references "Path of the Wind" (from the Totoro soundtrack by Joe Hisaishi). What seems less well-known is that the left side of this path runs alongside the Tamagawa Josui canal. So, glimpses of the waterway can be seen through the trees. In autumn, the foliage turns incredibly beautiful. If you're heading to the Ghibli Museum, I recommend walking this roughly 20-minute one-way path instead of taking the Catbus.
