Before heading to Akita Station for dinner, I decided to take a short stroll. Starting from the north exit and walking westward, I soon came upon the moat promenade at the Otemon Gate of Chiaki Park. The walkway, flanked by tall, blooming lotus flowers, was quite refreshing. From there, I entered the park via the ruins of the Matsushita Gate of Kubota Castle. Wow, it's huge! There are many points of interest: Hachiman Akita Shrine, Yagata Shrine, a tea house, Gogetsu Pond, and views of the castle town. It was a spot where you could easily spend a leisurely hour or so.
