About a 10-minute walk from the Kawai Tsugunosuke Memorial Museum lies his grave. While I'm not usually interested in famous people's graves, I was feeling excited after visiting the museum, so I decided to go. Along the way, I chuckled at how incredibly local the area felt, which somehow matched my impression of Kawai Tsunenosuke's character. The grave site was at a temple called Eiryナ綱i, which has a really nice name. The fact that the grave of a hero who lived and worked about 200 years ago is right here was quite moving. Incidentally, there also seem to be memorial halls and graves in Shiozawa, Fukuoka Prefecture, where he spent his final days.
