A short 3-minute walk from Toyooka Station in Hyogo Prefecture lies Maruyama Coffee, an elegant, classic retro cafe. Run by a couple, the husband's voice is delightfully charming, perfectly balanced by his wife who firmly emphasizes twice, "It's iced straight tea." Coffee and tea are brewed using a siphon, and the tea I ordered was delicious. The pizza toast was also outstanding—it felt like the real deal, without any unnecessary frills. The shop's atmosphere, the owners, and the offerings all had a wonderful classic flavor.
