The JR East Uetsu Main Line runs from Niitsu Station in Niigata Prefecture to Akita Station in Akita Prefecture. You can enjoy the dynamic Sea of Japan and local rural scenery. Since some sections have many passengers, mainly students, it's better to take photos on sections with fewer passengers. During my time using the line, the weather frequently shifted throughout the day—from clear skies to thunderstorms—yet strangely, there was never a prolonged downpour. The sunlight peeking through the clouds was particularly pleasant.
